This weeks marks 17 months on HRT. Here is an update for how things are going.

Started on Progesterone
For those who don’t know, Progesterone is taken by transgender women after being on HRT for at least 12 months to boost breast growth. As I was not happy with my chest I started on this 4 weeks ago.
It has helped a lot with my chest, I can feel them getting bigger. It is not advisable to stay on this long though as you can have to much Estrogen in your body, and this along with the cream I am on will put me over the recommended limit if I stay on it.
It is however good in small doses, I have got enough for 8 weeks, which should boost my Estrogen levels to the recommended level of between 300-1200 pmol/per litre.
Started going to the Gym
What a lot of people don’t seem to mention, including myself I freely admit, is that breasts can put you overweight, after all they do weight quite a bit. I went from 108Kg before HRT to 111.8Kg in the 16 months before I started to go to the gym.
This put be in the obese category according to my doctors, so I joined a gym. Things are going well in the weight department, I am now back down to 107.2Kg. My goal is to get to around 100Kg and stay there, 108Kg is the weight of being slightly obese, according to my GP, so I am now officially normal weight for my hight. I really want to loose weight around my stomach, which you will put on weight there due to HRT.
While I think gyms are transphobic in nature, no gym I have spoken to lets me use the women’s section, and men like stare at my boobs a lot. I think we, the transgender community, need to show people we are not going to get excluded from public life, that we are strong, and we will always be here.
So far I am happy with the way things are going on the chest and weight department
