The best thing I have done since coming out as a Transgender Woman

A few months back, I think I blogged about this, I thought I hit a dead end when it came to trying to get on pre-emptive HRT or Homone Replacement Theraphy. Well it looks like there is another avenue to get on it.

As in my last blog post - PReP, what is it and why should every trans woman should get it – a few months back I went to my GP saying my Gender Dysphoria was getting worse. Basically every morning and night I felt like I want to chop a certain peice of my body off between my legs. I hate seeing it, I hate it when I have to goto the toilet. The look of it makes me want to physically be sick, knowing it is part of me.

My GP reffered me to a Sexual shrink at Brook, the local sexual health clinic in my home town. It has probably so far been the best thing that has happened to me since coming out as Transgender.

First off, she kicked but to get me on PReP, which I am glad to say I am now on. While getting on PReP the clinic also gave me a once over, sexually and I came back all clean and now I am fully vaxinated against all known STD’s that I can be. Since trangender people, especially transgender women, are at the high risk category of getting STD’s, this has put my mind at rest.

BUT she is also doing more, she has asked me about my dysphoria and said she is going to get the ball rolling so to speak to get me on Pre-emptive HRT. Even though I have been on the waiting list for over 2 years now, I am still only about 1/2 way down the waiting list, if that. The average wait for the first appointment at my Gender Clinic is 4 1/2 – 5 years.

What she said was, to be honest, music to my ears. Now I am going to get into some topics from herre on out that can be considered sexual, but in a medical way so be warned.

She told me that when you start on HRT it can do a few things for you. First off your libedo can tank, which is fine for me tbh as I am a single lady. Second, and most important for me, it shrinks the penis.

Why is this important. Well its easier to hide when you are wearing jeans, trousers etc and in the morning and evening it wont be as bad for me. Also as a lady, I never use it during sex, which we did talk about as well, something transgender women have to think about.

It also does a few other things like soften your skin, can change how you view men and women (other trans people have been known to change sexual orientation thanks to HRT), change the way you smell and grow breasts.

It does other things as well but those are the most important ones to know.

So thanks to going to my GP, which I was at first reluctant to do as I thought they might not believe me, my journey to womanhood has hopefully spead up. This has lifted a massive weight off me mentally, which I will be forever greatful to my GP and the people of Brook.
