This has been on my mind a lot.

WARNING - THIS ARTICLE TALKS ABOUT SUICIDE THOUGHTS Recently my doctor went to see if I could get on Pre-Emptive HRT. First off she wrote to my GIS to see if they could. Took them a month to write back to her just to say that they can't and try this other place,  A "Gender Endocrinology" service. About 2 weeks ago I got a text off my GP to say the service has been shut down and there is nothing else they can do as there are no other services apart from GIS. So basically this government has allowed the service to close after the doctor who used to run the service retired. The reason why I went to my GP about getting on Pre-Emptive HRT is my gender dysphoria is getting worse. I am not one of the lucky trans woman who "pass". My face looks like a male, square, with a square chin, I hate it every time I look in the mirror. I have to wear wigs, I'm tall, very tall for a female (6'4"), broad shoulders, big feet. The list goes on and on. Basically everythi...

Transphobic comment, and my reply.

So I had this sent to me on a site by a man today. Well Mr Stranger here are some points you can read :- 1. For a start off I AM a woman so why should't I dress like one. 2. We live in a free state, which being transgender is a PROTECTED CHARACTERISTIC under the Equality Act 2010, so this could be classed as a hate crime, well done. 3. I honestly don't care what you think, I am a confident trans woman who will dress in what ever she is comfortable in. If you don't like it, don't look at me, I certainly won't be bothered. 4. As for the kids comment, how will me dressing as the woman I am effect them? Loads of kids was at Pride, they didn't seem to bothered there. In fact all I saw from the stage was kids having a good time. Maybe you need to look at yourself.

State of Transgender Healthcare in the UK

Image
Transgender and gender diverse people are those whose internal sense of gender is different than that which they were assigned at birth. This term includes people living in accordance with their gender identity in the absence of medical treatment and those undergoing gender-affirmative health care to support and affirm their gender identity, including those with non-binary gender identities. Transgender and gender diverse people face many challenges and barriers in accessing high-quality and inclusive healthcare in the UK. They experience high levels of discrimination, stigma, social exclusion, and harassment in many aspects of their lives, including in healthcare settings. They also suffer from health disparities such as higher rates of HIV infection, sexually transmitted infections, substance use, mental illness, and suicide. One of the main issues affecting transgender and gender diverse people is the lack of access to specialist gender-affirming services, such as hormone therapy a...

We have always been here.

We have always been here. You see thousands of years ago in ancient Messotamia, the priesthood of Innana was made up of transgender priests, and the very first human author, Enhdeunna, whenever the very first time a story was put onto tablets with symbols was written about that priesthood. Transgender people are part of the DNA of what it means to be human. We have always been here. Fast forward 2000 years, the Empress Elagabalis, a transgender Roman Empress that you never hear about in the history books, demanded that she be referred to as herself, she went by the title of Queen. We have always been here. Fast forward 2000 more years, Lucy Andeerson, a black transgender woman in 1890 transitioned as a kid, she became the best known cook and socialite in her town in California and when ever she was arrested and they found out her assigned sex at birth, all the townspeople gathered up and demanded that she be released because they had a feast to throw that night. We have always been her...

What does pride month mean?

Image
Pride Month is a time to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community and its diversity, history, culture and achievements. It is also a time to raise awareness and educate people about the ongoing challenges and struggles that LGBTQ+ people face around the world. Pride Month is observed in June to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, which was a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. The Pride flag is a symbol of Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community. It was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978 and originally had eight colors, each with a specific meaning. Later, it was reduced to six colors: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for spirit. In 2017, Daniel Quasar designed the Progress Pride flag, which added five more colors: black and brown to represent people of color, and pink, light blue and white to represent transgender people. The Progress Pride flag also has a chevron shape pointing to the rig...
