Happy New Year, Resolutions and COVID.

Well, Christmas has come and gone for another year. I hope your Christmas was a good one. I spent it in bed, ill. I got COVID 3 days before Christmas day, had it for a week. Worst Christmas Ever. But I don’t like Christmas anyway so at least I had a good excuse to hide away.

Not only that but my best friend also got it. She still has it where I have been clear for a few days now. A friend of ours did come around to both our houses and gave us a cooked Christmas Dinner. Thank you, it meant as lot when you are stuck in alone for the day. I feel sorry for her, she is an amazing person. I got her some flowers a few days ago and she has a nice surprise coming on Friday, which happens to be my birthday as well. Happy birthday me lol.

So, as I reflect on this past year what do I think of it, from a stand of this blog, which is LGBTQAI+ based.
  1. Being transgender is the right thing for me. Yes I know I don’t look like a woman at all, but in my mind I am and that's all that counts. “Passing” is not everything, being happy in yourself is.
  2. My sexuality, which is different to to gender, has been all over the place this year. At one point I thought I was straight, IE wanted a man only. Then the opposite. Now I don’t label myself. If I like someone I like someone. The nearest I would say is I am pan-sexual with a preference for women.
  3. I started to work for TransRadio UK. One of the best moves I have done as it gives me a purpose to help the trans community.
  4. I have now been with the Labour Party for over a year. Yes, it is not perfect and yes, some of its MP’s needed to be booted out for the transphobic nonsense they say but it is the best of what we have got.
So here are my New Years Resolutions.
  1. Lets start with the usual one, loose weight. I don’t know any woman who does not have that on the new years resolutions lol
  2. Spend the money I have more wisely. So I want to stop wasting it. Save some. There is a cost of living crises going on you know. I have already started doing this by getting bills paid off and not spending on any of my Credit Cards.
  3. Be more active in the local community LGBT+ wise. I have already started doing this as I am now a member of the local PRIDE committee as the Trans Representative and put my name forward to be the LGBT+ Officer and Disability officer for the local Labour Party.
  4. Read more books. There are some fantastic LGBT+ authors out there. Juno Davidson, Shon Faye, Christine Burnes MBE to name a few. I want to read more.
So thank you for your support this year. Hope you had a good 2022 and have a fantastic 2023.
