LGB Alliance and the Benefits System
This week is going to be a short one as I am busy in real life at the moment.
LGB Alliance
LGB Alliance, the so called alliance that tries to divide us LGBT+ people up has been branded a hate group by GPAHE or The Global Project Against Hate and Extremism in a report about hate groups in Ireland. This is very bad news for the so called alliance, that I might had has been proven by leaks to have a membership of 90% heterosexual men, as the charity status is being reviewed soon in the UK.
It will look really bad if the government keeps the charity status in place.
I have yet again had to go through the painful 7 months of having no PIP thanks to the disgraceful DWP and the way they assess claimants. I am an ex soldier from the British Army, and as a result of my service I have PTSD.
My PIP was up for renewal in January this year so thanks to the pandemic I had a telephone interview. As usual I failed the interview and had to go through the stress of the appealing against it, again. I had to do this when I initially claimed for PIP.
Why is this bad. Well first off, for someone on Benefits the money PIP can bring in is very important. Remember my condition means I can not use public transport for more than 30 minutes and can not be in busy places for long. That makes me basically unemployable so I am stuck on the money I get from Benefits alone. For the past 7 months I have had to struggle to keep my head above water, while there is a cost of living crises going on and dealing with hate thanks to being transgender and all the problems that comes with that like wanting to self harm etc. All of which causes stress which can also trigger my PTSD off.
BUT thanks to 2 very important friends, Carol (Who has literally saved my hide more than a few times, both mental and monetary) and Vicky, a friend I met through the Labour Party who helped me along with Carol through the Video Call Interview for the tribunal, I have got through this nightmare. So a BIG thank you to you two lovely ladies.
What puzzles me is setting up the Tribunal, the cost of the 4 people who was at the Tribunal (1 Judge, 1 Doctor, 1 Clark and a representative from the DWP) must cost a lot of money in administration and their time. Now I know some people try and rip off the system, I have seen it when I had to go to the food bank once over the last 7 months (Very degrading, 2 people was there saying they have just been paid and can’t wait to get more drugs) but why does it 90% of people who take it to a tribunal pass it. There has to be something wrong with the system.

There is definitely something seriously wrong with the benefits system when genuine people get it no problems turned down while others who don't have any real health problems get it no problems
