A trans brain, a strange and wonderful thing.

My sexuality has been all over the pace recently, as stated in my last post I have flipped flopped from Lesbian to Bi to Lesbian. Even thought I am still sorting it out I think I am getting there.

 

Someone told me something recently that made a lot of sense. As a transgender woman who knew there was something wrong at the age of 5 but was brought up under section 28, I did not know what Transgender was at the time. Then I joined the army and it was illegal to be LGBT at that time (1996). So all this time, up to when I was 45 I was pretending to be a man. It takes time for my brain to finally become free and think more like it should have been from day 1, a woman. So with this change other things also change, like the way I act, the things I like (Used to hate pink and bright colours, now love them for instance) and other things like my sexuality.

I think now my brain is slowly starting to settle down, this goes along with my tastes etc. For instance I used to be a big Si-Fi nut, mad about Star Trek and Star Wars. Now I just think they are ok. I prefer “Chick” flicks now. Same goes with my sexuality, I have gone from Bi, to Lesbian to Bi to Lesbian to now preferring men, though still like women.

It is frustrating that I can not nail this down as I have been single since coming out as Transgender. I think the reason why I have been is not lack of offers, I’ve always backed down from them, its because I have been confused.

Then I met someone. He knows I like him but he is also to young. He is however a very good friend. In fact there is a group of friends that I met thanks to the local pride that has helped me in ways I can not say. So to you special guys and girls, Thank you from the bottom of my hart. To the one I like, Tough haha.

But for me meeting this person has confirmed something for me, I now know what I like in a person. I also know I like men more than women. Strange to say that to be honest but its true.

Also I read today that the Labour Party has rejected stalls for its conference by the LGB Allaince and Labour Women’s Declaration (LWD). This, along with the whole leadership attending the recent London Pride makes me very proud to be a member of the party.
