My sexuality and my look

Image
As you may have guessed I have been struggling with my sexuality since coming out as Trans. I have been flip flopping between being Bi and Lesbian. I think I have finally settled on what I am. I am Bi, but sexually attracted to men but fully attracted to women. I have also found my "look". Pic is below. Blackburn Pride Pride month over now and I am still buzzing from my home towns first ever pride. I am so happy it happened and nothing major went wrong. I have already been well informed that there will be another one next year, roll on then ! ! Trans Women and Sports It looks like there is a concentrated attack on trans people in elite sports. “Lord” Seb Cole and the Culture Secretary Nadine Doris both have come out as saying trans women should not be allowed to compete in Elite Sports. There is no scientific evidence that transgender women have an advantage in sports. The study they refer to the author has said he did not even study transgender people in his study. Also

Blackburn Pride and LGBT Art

Image
Blackburn had its first pride last weekend, it was a brilliant day. I made quite a few friends and there was a lot of kids with LGBT+ flags there, The official total of people on the parade was 1300. For the first ever pride event I think that is amazing ! ! There was entertainment on all afternoon, all local acts. It was a good family day out and there was an after party at the local Geek Retreat that was good also. The parade and entertainment during the day was free as well. There will be another one next year I have been told. I would like to thank all the organisers who brought such an amazing day to life from a group of us talking about it at a Labour Meeting last November. LGBT Students at Blackburn Collage show off Art Work There was an Art Exhibition at the local collage this month also. Lots of LGBT students there had some artwork on display including Katie Louise Dolman, pictured above next to her artwork. She has this to say about it. "Being able to create my piece fo

Conversion Therapy Debate - My Thoughts

Image
MP's had a debate in Westminster Hall on Monday the 13th June 2022. Here are some of my thoughts. There is a population of 200-500k Trans people in the UK (Official UK Government Figures). 145k people signed the petition. So take the lower estimate, then take a third of the people who signed the petition, that’s 50% of the population signed the petition, more than the turn out of the last local elections. Facts that came out from MP’s debate in Westminster all. All Major medical bodies support full ban. 370 Religion Leaders world wide have come out for a full ban. Church of England  and Church of Scotland and some Muslim organisations have come out for a full ban. In 2020, the UN called for a full ban. The existence of trans people is not up for debate. The Exclusion of trans people in the ban can be a trap for LGB people. Existing law does not over it. Current LGBT rights would not exist without the T as a founding member of the movement was a Transgender person. 1/2 of trans peop

Why is England so behind Wales and Scotland?

Monday is an important day for Transgender people in the UK, the e-petition  on banning conversion therapy for all that got over 145k signature's is going to be debated in Westminster Hall at about 4:30pm. While I don't expect anything to come from the debate, ie not pass onto the house, it is still an important milestone with that amount of support. To put it in perspective, some estimates the trans population in the UK is 200k (2-500k is the official estimate) so if it is nearer the bottom end of the estimate, a large chuck of the transgender population signed it. I would like to also thank our Allies who voted on it as well. Mark Drakeford says "Trans Women are Women" Mark Drakeford, the first minister of Wales, has unequivocally declared that trans woman are women. He was questioned in the Senedd (The Welsh equivalent of Parliament) by Tory MS Laura Ann Jones about Trans Women participation in sports. Drakeford however was not sucked in by the loaded question that

My Coming out story - Pride Month

Image
Happy Pride Month everybody ! ! Just remember you are valid and important. Big personal news this week I am now a community news reader for TransRadio UK ! ! My Coming Out Story A friend of mine started this on Facebook so I decided to do my own in celebration of Pride. Here is my coming out story. Name : Kira Herdman Yes this is my legal name, I changed it via Deedpoll and I am Transgender. I knew I was different when I was 5. There was 2 problems, Section 28 and religious family. I didn’t even know what Transgender or even LGBT was until I was 20. I have always thought I was Bi and I had my first experience with a man at the age of 20 when I was in the Army, based in Tidworth, Wiltshire. No one knew as I was straight acting and more attracted to women than men. It stayed this way until a few years ago. The only person who knew I was Bi was my sister. I told her about 8 years ago that I was. About 3 years ago my niece came out as lesbian but was shy about it so I decided to come out
