Before I start on the main subject of this post, here is an update from last weeks post about the abuse I suffered at the hands of my neighbour.
The police took until Monday this week, that's 6 days, for them to phone me about this issue. They said they was going to give me a crime number, they have not done so. All I have is a log number. After a chat with the officer, who was very professional, he said there was not enough officers until now to contact me. He did say that thanks to no evidence he will call around and warn him of his abuse, and inform him that it will stay on his record and if he does it again he will be arrested.
6 Days to talk to an officer about transphobic abuse is way to long.
UK Falling down the LGBTQAI+ Rankings again.
The UK has dropped down to 14th on Europe's ranking for LGBTQAI+ Rights for the 3rd year running. When the Conservatives came to power to as recent as 2015 we was on top spot in the rankings. Last year we was ranked 10th.
What is to blame for this? Well in my opinion this current government is firmly to blame along with the EHRC. The government for not protecting the rights of ALL LGBTQAI+ people and leaving the Stonewalls diversity program while advising others to do the same as well as the transphobic non-sense that the EHRC has been coming out with.
Also for good measure, the government today responded to the Petition about including Trans people in the Conversion Therapy ban. Here I will quote them.
"There are different considerations when it comes to Transgender conversion therapy and the Government remains committed to exploring these.
One of the complexities is that those who experience gender dysphoria may seek talking therapy. It is vital that legitimate support is not inadvertently impacted"
Well, I have to tell you one thing, I don't know one transgender person who has wanted to "seek talking therapy". I do know a lot of transgender people who want to find out information about getting on HRT and how to cope with gender dysphoria though. As the WHO and every major medical body says, Gender Dysphoria is not an illness.
We are not ill, we are born in the wrong body. We just want to live the way we our brain was meant to live as, the gender we identify as. You can not cure an illness that does not exist. We are sick of pretending to be someone we are not.
This response comes as Greece joins a growing number of allies who have totally banned conversion therapy for all people, transgender and non binary included.
