Tory MP being very transphobic in Westminster Hall

This week there was a debate in Westminster hall that was brought about thanks to an E-Petition to legally recognise Non-Binary gender in the UK. As usual with the Conservatives, he was very transphobic. Here is more on that and 2 other stories this week.

US Mass shooting blamed on Transgender People.

US Republican Senator Paul Gosar spread baseless and transphobic rumour that the Texas School Shooter Salvatore Ramos was a "Trans Leftist Alien". This is the latest transphobic comment from a US Senator that makes me believe being trans in the US will not be safe soon. I hope our brothers and sisters in the US stay safe.

Wise words from an excellent Author

Shon Faye, the author of the excellent book "The Transgender Issue: An Argument for Justice" went on record to say why trans liberation is paramount for a more accepting future. She told "Now Then Magazine" "We've heard a lot about trans rights, about this idea that trans people deserve equality within our present system, But very little about the idea that, in fact, the present system is predicated on inequality and injustice"

Transphobia in Westminster Hall

Tory MP Nick Fletcher urged parents in the UK to "never give in" and affirm their child's non-binary identity amid a parliamentary debate. Even though 140,000 people signed a petition to make non binary a legally recognised gender identity in the UK, the MP went on to say some organizations was putting in the minds of children the idea of non binary. He also claimed that cis athletes can only hope for second place when "competing against a trans person". Here is some of what he said.

"Do not ever give into them or to peer pressure from other adults.

"Your child was born a boy or girl.

"Be proud of who they are.

"Tell them to be proud of who they are."

He added that parents should "help and encourage them", urging them to "be part of their lives" and "talk to them all the time".

"But push back on this," he continued.

"Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

"They will thank you for it in the long run."

Now I'm sorry, but I knew I was different at the age of 5. Brought up under Section 28 (Section 28 was a law brought in the UK by the Conservatives that banned all LGBTQ+ education in schools), I didn't know what transgender or non binary was. These days it's different. If my parents told be that I would have just gone into hiding. This mean's, under his advise, Kids these days would have to go through what I, and most of my generation did, hide who they really are. This means more kids will self harm, think about or killing themselves thanks to gender dysphoria.

Is this what we want for our kids? Is this what the government wants? Sorry but no. You should support your kids, let them live thier life to the full. They will NOT thank you in the long run if you take his advise. Take that from experience of someone who has been through it and now does not even talk to her parent's anymore thanks to me being a proud trans woman.
