Personal News and the Labour Party.

I have some personal news to share with everyone so this post this week will not be long.

My legal name

I have finally changed my legal name to "Kira Herdman". Goodbye Dead Name. This is such a big step for any Trans Woman. It means now I have a legal document that backs up what I am doing and no one can now say "this is a phase". Now to change everything else, long and tedious but worth it.

Letter from the GIC

I also have a recieved my first letter from the GIC that I am on the waiting list to get onto HRT. Only took them 2 months to send it out and now the 4 year wait starts. I really hope this becomes easier in the future for other people who wants to transition.

Queer Lit

I visted an LGBTQ+ book shop in Manchester this week. I would reccomend anyone who goes to Manchester (UK) to visit it. I have linked the website of the book shop here.

The Labour Party

I don't you if you heard Annelise Dodds speech at the Labour conference, but what she said was music to my ears. "A labour government that recognises that Trans Rights are Human Rights.". Now the local councillors where I live, like Jackie, are supportive of my right to be a woman, even have encouraged me but to hear it from such a senior member of the party is so well, good. You have my vote just on that speech alone.
