Living as a Trans Woman for the first few weeks.

As you know by my last post, I am a Trans Woman. Although I am not on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) I have been wearing women's clothes and wigs. I have started to do this now as the waiting list for HRT is a long one, about 2-3 years here in the UK.

I have been doing this full time since I came out. In fact the only man's stuff I still wear are Socks and Shoes.

How as this gone down when I go out? Well so far it has been good. No one has had an argument with me (which I expected). The people in the pubs I go to have been very supportive. Most men just say ok, don't care, while the women in the pub see me as a friend now (even though I am still a Pan/Bisexual).

I have had strange looks from some people. There is one thing I have done, but did also before I came out as a Trans. Every time I go out I wear headphones. Namely the Echo Buds that also has Noise Cancellation. I wear these as it helps me with my PTSD but the other benefit is I can not hear any sniggers etc if people are doing it.

I suppose what has also helped me is the fact I am 6'4 so can be a bit intimidating to the average person. I would recommend for any "baby" trans to wear headphones if you are scared of getting laughed at. It really helps.

For those who don't know what a "baby trans" is, it is a person who is Trans but not started or just started on HRT.

Apart from that Facebook also has some very good groups that you can get advise from. I know I am lucky, I have a sister who fully supports me and some good friends who do also. Not every Trans Woman has this support. So to them, thank you, it means more to me than you can imagine.

To the women who do not have the support, you are now part of the LGBT community. There is a lot of support for you.
